Who we are

FranchiseKosh (“we”, “us”) runs this website, a directory of franchise and business opportunities in India. For the personal data described below we decide why and how it is used. Contact us at [email protected].

What we collect

• Enquiries. When you use “I'm interested” on a brand page you give us your name, email address, phone number and any of: city, state, investment budget, a message and answers to the brand's questions. We also record the page you enquired from and a one-way hash of your IP address to detect abuse.
• Accounts. If you sign in (by emailed link or Google) we store your name, email address and profile picture. Brand teams we add to a listing are stored the same way.
• Brand and claim requests. Details you provide when submitting or claiming a listing, such as your role, work email, phone number and proof links.
• Usage data. Privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible) measure page views without cookies or personal profiles. Our servers keep ordinary technical logs.

Why we use it

• To pass your enquiry to the brand you chose so its team can contact you.
• To send you a confirmation and service emails (sign-in links, claim decisions).
• To operate accounts, review claims and prevent spam and fraud.
• To understand how the site is used and improve it.

We rely on your consent (for example the checkbox on the enquiry form) and, where the law allows, on legitimate uses such as security and service delivery.

Who we share it with

• The brand you enquire about — your enquiry details, so its team can contact you. The brand decides how it uses them afterwards, and this policy does not govern the brand's own practices.
• Service providers that run the site for us, including hosting and database, email delivery, analytics and payment processing. They may only use data to provide their service to us.
• Authorities when the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

Enquiry data is kept for up to 24 months and then deleted or anonymised. Account data is kept while your account exists. You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see below).

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you and how it is used;
• correct or complete inaccurate data;
• erase your data, and withdraw consent at any time;
• respond to a grievance, and nominate someone to exercise these rights for you.

Email [email protected] from the address you used on the site. Withdrawing consent does not affect what was lawfully done before, and data already passed to a brand must also be raised with that brand.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. Our analytics do not use cookies. We do not use advertising cookies.

Children

The service is for adults. Do not submit an enquiry on behalf of someone under 18.
